Please park considerately!

To improve safety for the new Kingsway Primary school, which is to open soon, and concerns regarding access for emergency vehicles, new on-road parking restrictions have been brought in along Valley Gardens and Thatcham Avenue.

The availability of less on-road parking means that more vehicles will be using the off-road parking areas, so for the good of all those using these areas should please park as considerately as possible.

Yes, Kingsway is your community – but please remember that it’s also your neighbours’ community!

Co-ordinators are being sought for Lyneham Drive, Shawbury Avenue, Chivenor Way and Mildenhall Way. The current team would love you to join Kingsway’s Neighbourhood Watch, so please contact any one of the above or email alan.hardacre@gloucestershire.police.uk

Signs indicating the active operation of Neighbourhood Watch are going up soon at strategic points in and around the local streets.

Concerns…or need help?

Any resident with concerns or information can get in touch with their local Neighbourhood watch contact or email Alan Hardacre at the city Neighbourhood Watch office: alan.hardacre@gloucestershire.police.uk. Alternatively, call Mark Peer, Gloucestershire Police Community Liaison Officer, on the main Police non-emergency number: 0845 090 1234.

“We are delighted that Neighbourhood Watch has come to Kingsway. The setting up of these schemes within communities can play a vital part in helping the Police ensure the likes of vandalism, anti-social behaviour and potentially, more serious unlawful behaviour, can be prevented or stopped in its tracks.” P.C. Mark Peer, Gloucestershire Police Community Liaison Officer

“Information is vital and with Neighbourhood Watch now operating on the ground here there will certainly be a good flow to help the police do what needs to be done to make Kingsway a safe, secure and socially enjoyable place to live.” Alan Hardacre, Gloucester City Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator

As a community we must all play a part in helping to achieve this and I feel that getting involved in the likes of a successful Neighbourhood Watch scheme – and being if you like being the eyes and ears of the local community.” Richard Read, Kingsway Neighbourhood Watch Local Street Co-ordinator
