Please park considerately!

To improve safety for the new Kingsway Primary school, which is to open soon, and concerns regarding access for emergency vehicles, new on-road parking restrictions have been brought in along Valley Gardens and Thatcham Avenue.

The availability of less on-road parking means that more vehicles will be using the off-road parking areas, so for the good of all those using these areas should please park as considerately as possible.

Yes, Kingsway is your community – but please remember that it’s also your neighbours’ community!

With hundreds of occupations having already taken place on the initial phase of Kingsway, sales are now underway on Neighbourhoods Two and Three of Gloucestershire’s exciting, fastest growing homes jobs and leisure destination.

The QUVL Ltd members, Taylor Woodrow and George Wimpey, now joined as a single company, Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon Homes will all be developing on these next two Neighbourhoods of Kingsway.

Bryant Homes (Taylor Woodrow) is to build 107 homes, George Wimpey a total of 295 split between the company’s Bristol and Swindon regional operations and Persimmon a total of 286 properties.

Other companies developing on these next two Neighbourhoods of Kingsway are Barratt 160 homes and two companies who have not built on Kingsway thus far - Droitwich based Lion Court Homes, planning to build 161 homes and the Midlands Division of Miller Homes, scheduled to construct 125 properties.

Homes within these new Neighbourhoods are available for reservation now.

A total of 1135 homes in total are planned within these two Neighbourhood areas and the sales period is likely to proceed through to 2008 and 2009.

A wide range of properties will be developed on these two new Neighbourhoods. Each house builder is creating properties, which are diverse in order to suit every lifestyle.  There will be 1 and 2-bedroom apartments; three storey townhouses and also more traditionally built 2, 3, 4 and 5 –bedroom homes.

All the homes - as with the first Neighbourhood of Kingsway - are being sympathetically designed to create an attractive vibrant modern day living environment in step with the way we live our lives today.

Kingsway’s homes in the new Neighbourhoods will continue to reflect the needs and aspirations of today’s homeowner not just through their interior layout and design but also in terms of their setting and street scene.

Marketing suites and showhomes are open on Kingsway and more will follow shortly as the development of Neighbourhoods 2 and 3 continues into next year.

Nicki Reed, Chairman of the Marketing Committee of QUVL, which runs the project, explains Kingsway will be far more than just another housing development.

“We’re creating a new community, which will become a vibrant place for both work and play.  Kingsway itself is very unique and will play a major part in the overall urban regeneration of the neighbouring Gloucester area.

As Kingsway becomes more established the areas surrounding the development will experience the positive knock-on effect of this new community.  The lucky people who manage to secure a property at Kingsway will experience a truly special environment difficult to match elsewhere.”

Work on building the many community facilities for Kingsway are also now well to the fore.  The plans for the Local Centre have now been finalised with building due to be completed by the end of 2008.  The Centre will contain shops - including a main food store to be operated by Sainsbury - a place of worship, a community centre, a Residential Care Home, a health centre and a pub/restaurant operated by Marston’s in the converted barns and stables of the Manor Farm at the heart of the development.

Kingsway is Gloucestershire’s fastest growing new community with over 3,600 homes planned by 2012.  The development is being operated by QUVL Ltd which consists of leading house builders Persimmon, Taylor Wimpey – the new joint company formed with the coming together of leading developers George Wimpey and Taylor Woodrow – and commercial developer, Cheltenham based Robert Hitchins Group.
