‘We’re making good progress’ (Contractor)
Malvern- based contractors Speller-Metcalfe report good progress in all sectors
of the construction of the new Kingsway Primary School.
The playgrounds and paths around the school are beginning to take shape with the
building’s roof now all but completed and the windows installed. The plastering
and decorating of the internal rooms is underway along with the routing of the mechanical
and electrical systems around the building.
With the removal of the internal building scaffolding, the ‘wow factor’ of the curved
classroom ceilings can be clearly seen for the first time. The eco friendly solar
panels, which will warm the water for the school’s central heating, are being installed
on the school roof.
External works are also well underway grading, preparing and seeding the sports
pitch and on tarmacing the playgrounds and games areas.
