Please park considerately!

To improve safety for the new Kingsway Primary school, which is to open soon, and concerns regarding access for emergency vehicles, new on-road parking restrictions have been brought in along Valley Gardens and Thatcham Avenue.

The availability of less on-road parking means that more vehicles will be using the off-road parking areas, so for the good of all those using these areas should please park as considerately as possible.

Yes, Kingsway is your community – but please remember that it’s also your neighbours’ community!

Kingsway Travel Plan

Traffic is the fastest growing source of carbon dioxide, which contributes to global warming, as well as other pollutants that have a detrimental effect on our health. Add to this stress, road rage, greater demand for car parking spaces and the health problems caused by a lack of exercise, the case for developing Travel Plans has never been stronger.

Whilst there is no single solution to combat congestion, a combination of individual measures implemented in the form of a Travel Plan could have a very beneficial effect.

In encouraging reduced car usage at Kingsway, we will work with residents and local transport operators to recommend a wide range of measures. Improvements to public transport provision, increased awareness of car share matching services and promotions to raise appreciation of the health benefits of walking and cycling are all measures listed on the Travel Plan menu.

Travel Plan Toolkit

In an attempt to make the transition from car to walking, cycling, public transport or car sharing as easy as possible, we have produced this Travel Plan Toolkit. The Toolkit provides useful advice and information on the more sustainable modes of transport available to Kingsway residents.

The Kingsway development and the Quedgeley area are pedestrian friendly with good transport links to shopping, health care and leisure facilities.
